The Prince Albert Grand Council is now accepting applications for the position of
Teacher Services/Mentor Specialist
The Prince Albert Grand Council (PAGC) First Nations Student Success Project is seeking the services of a highly qualified and experienced Education Services/Mentor Specialist. He/she will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team of specialists to implement high impact education technology practices in PAGC schools, Grades 1 to 12. A description is available upon request.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in Education.
- Demonstrated success as a classroom teacher with knowledge and mastery of a variety of effective instructional strategies.
- Demonstrated knowledge of elementary and middle school curriculum, and cognitive development.
- Demonstrated ability in use of a variety of technologies and application through coursework, workshop participation, and completed projects and products.
- Must have at least 10 years teaching experience in a variety of classrooms.
- Must have valid drivers license.
- Must provide satisfactory criminal record check.
Job Summary: Responsible for providing services as may be mutually agreed upon that will facilitate the implementation of the PAGC Education Strategies Plan.
Duties:
- Work with administrators and teachers to plan and/or provide professional development.
- Provide leadership in the development of plans and programs designed to improve instruction in PAGC schools.
- Assist schools in developing appropriate interventions for students.
- Maintain an up to date knowledge of pedagogy and recent developments in teaching.
- Observe, coach and mentor PAGC teachers.
- Plan and prepare group presentations and in-service for PAGC schools.
- Research, review and recommend resources and curriculum support for PAGC schools.
- Must be technologically literate.
- Must be prepared to travel and be part of a team approach to supporting PAGC schools.
